Treatment of anxiety

How effective are the current psychological techniques to treat anxiety?
Has your anxiety was cured by CBT, psychotherapy or NLP? Only to say something about my problem – I found that I really can not fully relax in front of people, especially strangers, and when I am called upon to play in front of an audience, a great sense of anxiety seems to grow and consume within me and this naturally has an impact on my performance. My brain is not seems to be able to function at all when stressed. I lose the ability of language, memory, reason, etc. I assume that these techniques are quite effective, because they seem to be endorsed by medical professionals and yet I can not help being skeptical about the skills and qualifications of the counselors who practice them, and had a bad experience with a well known hypnotherapist. The only change I noticed was a light wallet and several hours out of my life wasted on drivel that was pouring. It is very easy to make money from the desperate.
Sounds like you have a mild case of social anxiety. Anxiety is the group of disorders that therapy better treatment. On the downside, social anxiety is more difficult to treat than other anxieties. Seems to have more of a physiological component of other disorders anxiety. Although a good therapist certainly helps, a lot of this is to you, it will be very difficult, but you are more willing to engage therapy and exercises on, the better your outcome will be. Here's what to do: find a psychologist (a person with a doctorate in psychology or a Psy.D.) that can TCC. While others may do the therapy, psychologists are by far the best trained in therapy. You may also want to consult a psychiatrist (MD) to reach an anti-anxiety med. Studies consistently show that the combination of medication and therapy work better than either by itself. Good luck!
