Social anxiety treatment

My psychiatrist is suggesting that Prozac is "The" treatment for social anxiety and obsessions. Is this true?
I have problems social anxiety and obessesion. My psychiatrist saids that, as someone with diabetes needs insulin I need prozac. Does this mean that Prozac (such as insulin for diabetics) is all I need and that other forms of therapy are unnecessary?
"Treatment" I disagree. I would say that "treatment." I heard some psychiatrists described as "pill pushers." A dealer would prescribe a pill pill unnecessary and excessive. I talked to a person that was more than ten different remedies for mental and emotional problems. I think that would qualify as a pill pushing. You know that this psychiatrist well enough to know what their habits are like? If not, only time will tell. But my idea of a good doctor, any doctor, is one that explains all the options and that he would recommend one over the other. There are other options. Therapy or talk therapy is comprehensive. Some useful (useful in my opinion non-business) sub-types are cognitive-behavioral therapy and cognitive or behavioral. There are other medicines. Many of them, I think. There is a link below for a list of drugs psychotropic. There are descriptions next to the names. Importantly, many drugs are effective for treating disorders other than what is commonly observed. For example, a psychiatrist, once gave me a med for seizures, because it was observed to stabilize moods. I looked Anticonvulsants (seizure) and read that regulate the release of a neurotransmitter and resorption (GABA to what I read about). As with other psychotropic medications. Well, they neurotransmitters different effect. I also heard from two different psychiatrists that the usual way of deciding what will determine what they are seen working the most. Not everyone reacts the same way. They said that if they have ten patients, they will require, for example, Prozac for all ten. Can I work for 5-7 people, and for the 5-3 people who do not work, they switch to another medicine. Maybe he saw his psychiatrist prozac often work and that is why he formulated his opinion, the way he did. There other factors too. A psychiatrist gave me remeron. It was horrible. Later, he said if he knew that I had problems with social anxiety would not have prescribed for me. Therefore, not having to one. It took me about five psychiatrists to find a good one I have now. Strangely, it is still better than what I saw when I had health insurance. If you decide to go to med route, you must make sure your document is competent. Maybe try asking him to explain something that you have researched to see if it is right or not. Call it about it if you have different information so that he can explain if there were any new development that you have not read. A certain level of trust is necessary. I'm not saying they trust him with your life, but if you think he is incompetent or unethical've got a problem. Sorry (this is sooo much!)
